Location
Located in the heart of England the Peak District is easily accessed from the entirety of the UK. With trains from London to Derby taking less than 2 hours, and great public transport for your onwards journey we are reachable with or without a car.
To find out more about reaching the Peak District and travelling throughout Visit Peak District and Derbyshire have loads of helpful information.
Our signature steep limestone valleys like Dovedale, with its famed stepping stones characterise the park’s southern area, which is known as White Peak. Whereas the Dark Peak area in the North has dramatic gritstone ridges and stark moorland plateaus like Kinder Scout, the park’s highest point. It's therefore both dramatic and beautiful in equal measure, perfect for adventuring and relaxing.
Whether you are looking to explore the stunning countryside or visit historic towns and villages, you'll find plenty to see and do in this beautiful region. From the epic heights of Mam Tor to the cutest bakery or coffee shop in Bakewell. Plus there's a wealth of history hiding in our hills, take a guided tour of Thornbridge Hall to learn more about this Jacobean Country Hall or visit the David Mellor Design Museum in Hathersage to view the historic collection of his work. Although often referred to as 'the cutlery king' Mellor's aim as a designer was to improve our urban environment, his lighting, seating and bin designs have widely changed how our urban spaces look! At the museum you can also book a tour of the Round Building cutlery factory or visit the Riverside Kitchen to enjoy food made from quality local products.
Outdoor Activities
Keeping your friends and family entertained during their stay at our exclusive accommodation need not be a challenge. The Peak District has a wealth of experiences, activities, and adventures to choose from. To help make it easier for you to create a packed (or relaxed) agenda to suit your group, we regularly partner with Sauced Here who help coordinate everything on your behalf.

Sauced Here make it easy and hassle-free to book. At your request, one of their team of experts can guide you on which activities might suit your group and then take care of all the details just for you.
Alternatively, there is a wealth of activities you can tap into yourself. From finding a countryside walk or hiring bikes from Hassop Station to explore the Monsal Trail.
Local Food and Drink
The Peak District is well known for its incredible local food and drink producers, and we believe that they are some of the best in the country. Whilst we admit we are biased, when you get here, we are sure you will agree with us!
Whether you're looking for meat, dairy, vegetables, or baked goods, Sauced Here's online supermarket is stocked with over 1000 locally sourced products and has everything you need to create delicious meals whilst you stay with us. The online ordering is easy and convenient with deliveries available to your accommodation door. Sauced Here can even unpack your groceries into your kitchen ready for when you arrive!
For that added level of service Sauced Here can also arrange for a private chef to cook your local goodies too!
If you'd rather dine out you can visit one of the many amazing pubs or restaurants. The George in Hathersage recently won an award in the 2023 Peak District & Derbyshire Tourism Awards and is a firm favourite of ours. For something less formal, visit the Thornbridge Taproom for pizzas and the very best locally brewed pints! In 2022, Thornbridge Brewery was announced as UK Brewer of the Year by the International Beer Challenge.
So, why Self Catering?
Now that we've sold you on how brilliant the Peak District National Park is, it's time we tell you a little more about our offering at Beyond Venues.
With design at the heart of all we do, our homes are both beautiful and well equipped. Our interior designer Alex Heslop (Peak Inside) has created beautifully curated homes full of antique furniture, luxury fabrics and bespoke pieces. We aim to make your stay as perfect as possible. Our hands on approach means we are able to offer you local insight and added benefits you simply wouldn't get anywhere else!
Flexible & Private
Our self-catering properties offer a level of privacy that is hard to find in other types of accommodation. With your own private space, you can relax and unwind without worrying about noisy neighbours or intrusive staff. This is particularly useful if you're looking for a peaceful retreat or to celebrate a special occasion. Although most of our guests come for a holiday, if you are interested in having a change of scene for your work from home office, or even host a training day or leadership meeting we can offer you the perfect place for this, without any distractions.
With your own private kitchen, you can prepare meals whenever you want, without having to worry about restaurant opening times or menus. This is particularly useful if you have dietary requirements or young children who need to eat at specific times. This also gives you the option of hiring a private chef or trying out some local produce all from the comfort of our own home.
The added privacy of a holiday cottage also means you can stay up late (or wake up early) and not have to worry about disturbing anyone, it means you pick the music, the TV and even the temperature of the house! Our properties really are the best of both worlds, with boutique hotel style bedrooms, luxury ensuites and lots of high tech appliances.
Extra Space
Self-catering properties are often more spacious than hotel rooms, which is ideal if you're travelling with a family or group of friends. With separate bedrooms, living areas, bathrooms and kitchens, you'll have plenty of space to spread out and relax. This is great if you want to put the kids to bed but stay up and enjoy a glass of wine.
Then, with the added benefit of being within the Peak District, there is the benefit of ample outdoor space to explore. From lush farmland to rocky outcrops, there is a great variety of terrains to explore. One of our favourite spots to spend a day soaking up the outdoor space is Chatsworth Estate. There are plenty of different paths for walking, and space to sit and relax by the river. Take a rug and a frisbee and you can't hope for a much better day – especially if the sun is shining.
Our homes also have extra added benefits, from board games to hairdryers there is little you will want for when staying with us!
